Formerly incarcerated persons, community allies, and members of the surrounding neighborhood manage the cooperative-style housing, meet the needs of both formerly incarcerated people and the community where it is located on the Eastside of Indianapolis. The project and programs were envisioned and developed by a team of currently and formerly incarcerated persons in collaboration with community allies and input from the latest data-driven research regarding transitional housing and re-entry programming. We will evaluate the success of our program on the basis of its effectiveness in preventing re-incarceration, providing employment, and encouraging entrepreneurship and community service among the people who participate in it.
